Technically...

I suppose one could describe yesterday's Twelfth Night as a bit of a let down... For some reason the Holly Man did not come down the Thames on the boat. It was a procession instead, quite impressive across the bridge, but still,I like it when he arrives by water. Plus,I had brought my posh camera, only to discover the battery was flat!

Then the people crowded round for the Mummer's play and I could barely see them, only the Obby Oss bouncing around. Can't complain too much as the Obby Oss is undoubtedly my favourite.

These are old photos... slightly out of focus! I'll try again next year.

In a way the crowds are cool, shows that at least people are interested. Plus, bumped into some good friends, got to natter a bit. Then, because I could feel the cold beginning to nip, I decided to go home... went past Southwark Cathedral, where a visiting choir was rehearsing for a service. Popped in to listen, and just marvelled for a bit at how cool it is to live in a place where such different art forms find their place so close to each other. Mummers and choir, revelry and reverence, all of it colour.
