Glory Days

Sky lands on the garage roof
Apple dreaming
Cats and daisies play
it’s a golden year
I’m still trying to hear
what you’re telling me about the coming fear
and all I can say
Is that these are glory days, my friend
Come what may,
These are glory days

Man’s fixing his Harley
Tells me the year
it became vintage
And all he’s got to say
When you talk about the ending tear
Is that all we got is here my friend
Have a beer.
All our gold is here,
and come what may
These are glory days.

So if someone’s around
to cuss and doubt
When summer ends and all
the lights go out
They’ll think of us like peach trees in the haze
smiling and drinking
Some of us winking
Charge your glass before the end, my friend
come what may;
To glory days.
