A morning

The earlier I go, the better my work out at the gym. Everyone leaves you alone, but the place gets very popular with boxers and body builders, and I feel a bit self conscious flailing my fists hopelessly at the punch bags while some bruiser who's probably hoping to make money putting himself in the ring waits for me to finish.  The good thing is, there's no overt staring or mansplaining, but people are ready to help.  One guy who was working on the speed bag,and he delivered so many punches so fast, I was the one staring. Then I plucked up courage to ask him what I should do with my thumbs when I put the gloves on.

'Don't tuck them in under your fingers,' He said, 'You'll get your thumb broken.' He showed me how to do it, and when he finished (he wasn't there long, as I guessed... only the Flash could have kept that up for more than a few minutes) I spent a while beating up the hanging bag.

When I left, it was raining just a little. It reminded me of one of my favourite feelings, that moment when I walk into a warm bedroom and slide between cool clean sheets. Here I was, all sweaty coming out of the gym into this sweet cool rain. I walked back home enjoying the tingle on my skin. It was nicer even than the waiting shower.

I am still bothered by notions of  a headpiece or whatever for the wedding. Trouble is,almost everything that isn't a hat or fascinator needs to be pinned in to be certain, and I was intending to have very short hair at the time. So is it gauche for the non-decorated bits of headbands/headpieces to show? How about if they are metal? Maybe I should grow my hair out a bit, so that there's more possibility of hiding pins and whatever underneath. But Larians really likes my hair in pixie mode. I don't know!

The Panama Papers: http://panamapapers.sueddeutsche.de/articles/56febff0a1bb8d3c3495adf4/ It's a very interesting list of baddies and demi-baddies, and  points at people our governments don't much like, which is remarkably handy.

On the local level I don't like Cameron, but can't fault him for his father's doings, or for  him benefiting by them...  how many people would give up family fortunes born out of dodgy dealing? But as part of the big picture, what this does do is point up the huge inequalities between rich and poor; it clearly demonstrates the utter lie of being 'All in this together,' and the grotesquerie of the disdain heaped upon the vulnerable, while the dishonesties of the rich are shrugged away as human nature or some other nonsensical cliche. Stefan Plochinger, editor of the online  SZ tweeted https://twitter.com/ploechinger/status/716763595820941312
which, to the best of my crappy online translation means, 'Wait, just look what's coming.'

Fascinating. Let's see what it changes.

Re: headpieces, I concur! What is the done thing with non-adorned parts of bands and such like?!
